As you know, our work typically involves treating patients who suffer from today’s most prevalent diseases—cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, and cancer. It has become increasingly apparent that the education of patients about the impact of their lifestyle choices on their diseases, as well as directed intervention, could have a significant positive impact on much of what we treat. Based on personal experience, I know how hard it is to try to discuss which lifestyle choices could mitigate their diseases, as well as provide them with the practical knowledge and motivation to apply them, within the confines of an office visit.
So in order to facilitate this aspect of treatment for your interested patients, Tracey Eakin and I have created the Lifestyle WoRx program (LWx). Our program would enable your practice to enhance the services that you are able to provide to your patients, would differentiate your practice, would empower the active participation of patients in their own care, and would affect meaningful change in the course of their conditions through educated lifestyle decisions. Our work would complement the primary treatment that they receive from you, and we would provide you with ongoing feedback as to their progress, so that you can adjust their regimen as indicated.
When these lifestyle interventions have been applied in both a scientific and clinical setting, study subjects have experienced:
renewed insulin sensitivity
weight loss and long-term weight maintenance
improved cholesterol and trigylceride profiles
lower blood pressure
arrested bone loss, autoimmune reaction, and gastrointestinal distress
With the consistent application of the tenets of our program, similar results could be realized by your interested patients.
Workshops take place at Teredesai, McCann, & Associates, Collier Town Square, 1597 Washington Pike, Suite A14, Bridgeville, PA 15017 (to the right of Pittsburgh Bottleshop).
We are happy to announce that we now accept the following insurance: Highmark, UPMC, Coventry/HealthAmerica/Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Medicare.
To refer patients to our program, just hand them each a business card that we will provide to you and ask them to contact us to enroll in the next available session. For a supply of these cards or for any questions you may have about the program, please contact Tracey at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 724.469.0693.
